About Get Myself Married
Planning a wedding without losing the plot
Last updated August 13, 2026
Get Myself Married publishes planning & timeline, budget, venues for readers who want the working version rather than the promotional one.
Everything we publish tries to be calm, organised, sympathetic to the exhausted, which mostly means saying what we actually think and showing the reasoning.
What we cover
The site is organised into 6 sections:
- Planning & Timeline — What to decide when, and the order that keeps the whole thing calm.
- Budget — Where the money goes, what inflates, and how to hold a number.
- Venues — Choosing a place, reading the contract and the questions nobody thinks to ask.
- Ceremonies & Rituals — The rites themselves, what they mean, and combining more than one tradition.
- Guests & Etiquette — Lists, invitations, families and the diplomacy underneath all of it.
- After the Wedding — Names, paperwork, thank-yous and the fortnight nobody plans for.
Who writes it
Every article carries a named writer with a profile page, and nothing is published anonymously. You can see the full list on our writers page.
How it is funded
Advertising pays for this site. It does not buy coverage, placement or a favourable word, and our editorial policy sets out exactly how that separation works.
